A Small Update

News on projects and posting.

Hi All,

I just wanted to send you all a note to let you know that I’m dedicating time to a few projects that I need to get out the door. This means my publishing schedule won’t be on a weekly basis for a couple months.

I’m sure some of my friends are breathing a sigh of relief at not seeing my nonsense. But for the 38-45% of subscribers who do open my emails, I thought you’d appreciate that I’m taking time to finish off two publishing projects: “The Little Book of Zeke”, a collection of my dog related comics; and then there’s an expanded, larger format “Buckshot Sugar Plums” featuring more wild stories from my feral youth.

I also have a couple of comedic animated shorts that I’m slooooowly working on.

Due to all this, I also wanted to let you know I’ve decided to pause my billing while I churn through these projects.

I’d rather make decent, hilarious art of substance than crank out half-baked mediocre art and stories due to meeting some imagined weekly deadline.

This will give me the mental space I need that frees me from the illusory dictates of social media deadlines, which decree one must hammer people over the head on a regular basis for the almighty “Likes,”“Shares,” or maybe even the rare “Going Viral.” All things which unfortunately induce a bit of cringe to my humble sensibilities.

Social media often makes me scratch my head and think, “Did Van Gogh ever worry about such nonsense?” Oh sure, he enjoyed the occassional “Share,” but then again, he only had so many earlobes to go around.

Excuse me, I digress.

Long story short, I gots things to do. So instead of once a week, you’ll see my half-baked comics only twice a month!

Again, for some, this might be a blessing.
