I do miss crap shopping with you.

Deb is lucky to have you support her goals.

You probably hit her Willy Wonka type dream right in the nose.

LOVED the Burns and Schrieber. My goodness, it's been decades since I've heard comedy that good. Flip, George, Gleason, Alan King, Phyllis, Totie. Comedy died with them. Nothing's funny anymore except maybe Bill Maher.

BTW, you will always get COVID, no matter what you do. And it hits people different ways. I'm so sorry about what happened with your wife. Awful! I hope she's done with that misery.

I was a kid in the 60s & 70s, but don't remember them. Maybe our three tv stations didn't show them in Alabama for some reason. I did recognize the Ripley's Believe it or Not reference because my family had at least a couple of those books and the font stands out. Great art, fun nostalgia!

Their humor was as topical as that of George Carlin and Flip Wilson. Did Drugs, Sex and Gay jokes fly in Alabama back in the 60s and 70s? I'm guessing, maybe not so much?

I knew kids whose parents wouldn't let them watch "Laugh-In." Nobody in my household cared, so we kids watched that, and even the Smothers Brothers, who I didn't realize were controversial until years later. My husband and I laugh, imagining the reactions of 60s people seeing today's tv commercials. They actually say the word PERIOD now, not to mention "hell" and "damn!" And what if they'd shown multiracial and even same sex couples? Shocking.

Ha! I know isn't it crazy when you compare today to past TV shows. For a hoot I went and watched the last season of Laugh-In (on Tubi) , and holy baloney, I don't remember it being that bad, but gawd, now watching as an adult, its final season (7) was El Stinko!

Terrible! We've been looking at old Ed Sullivan shows and feeling astonished that people were impressed with the variety acts such as guys in suits balancing things on sticks or spinning plates. What if those audiences could have seen the amazing, athletic stuff on modern shows?
