Comic: The Gift from Hypnos

A tale about couples and sleep.

A lot of people write about what tests a marriage. For some, it’s fighting over how to raise the kids. For others, it’s how the chores get done, who’s more of a slob, or who’s more financially irresponsible.

For me, the test is how well a bed can be comfortably shared.

Here’s a story about that.

By the way, my wife loved this comic.
At least that’s what she said. However last night, I noticed a couple of extra pillows laying on our bed.

I hope you got a laugh from this little story. I realize during this very fraught time in the United States (and world) that it’s damn hard to find any levity in the things around us.

I’ll admit that even though my humor gauge is pretty wide, I’ve also been having a tough time staying lighthearted. In fact all the rage, disgust, and emotional turmoil I feel about this country is really welling up in me. To that point, I’ve considered that the best way for me release those feelings is by doing what any other artist would do. Which is to sling handfuls of paint at a canvas while screaming ancient Celtic and Italian curses, in the vain hope that the splatters summon forth a dark vendetta against the imbeciles and thugs ruining our country.

But if that magic doesn’t occur, I’ll just settle for expelling this poisonous miasma from my skull and onto a canvas. Who knows, maybe this will push my art to a new level.

Anyways, I just wanted to let you all know that there might be some pretty disturbing art appearing here in the future, or at the very least, some cartoons with a bit more savage, but still funny, “malagnitá.”
