I love these! I've always been fascinated by teens pursuing cartooning, and how you can see their progress in their lines. I even was a publisher for kids' comics for a while (comics made BY kids) and yours would definitely have made my cut!

Be proud of your progress. You were born to be an artist. You’ll continue to evolve, perhaps change your style. It’s all you. Be grateful for how much you’ve learned over the years- from your teachers, your expand what you taught yourself. I’m proud of that kid.
These are golden! A righteous outrage of adolescence. You were way ahead of me at the same age, though I was listening to Frank Zappa and had I had the gumption, would've done stuff like this. (Too timid, guess I was!)
I get whiffs of Dan O'Neill and Odd Bodkins in a few of these, plus a few of the things Tom Wilson did when he started Ziggy, especially in scenarios where Ziggy encounters hippies and "End Is Nigh" placards.
Thanks Lee. Looking back at them now, I too realized that Odd Bodkins drawings styles definitely filtered into a couple of these. Reading National Lampoon, Warren horror mags, Mad, Cracked, and Sick at 12-15 was like handing a kid a creative literary loaded gun, which I think needs to happen more often in this country.
In literary terms this is “juvenilia” and is valuable for identifying the emergence of styles and themes.
And for those of us who lack artistic talent, it’s heartening to watch your skill evolve. Everyone starts somewhere, no? But only some keep going. Good on ya!
