We had one rescue dog that was super friendly with almost everyone and every pet. Almost is the key word. The human exception was white men wearing ball caps. The pet exception was pit bull dogs. There were dog fight rings in the area where our dog was rescued from. We figured our dog had understandable justifications for his behavior.
Frankly, Ed., I think it's a good plan. You can have a lot more done for your animal than for yourself in any ER you visit.

Yes I'd say Zeke has issues... My dog Tad will not tolerate other dogs. No amount of
'socializing' has worked.
