Out here in the West, suburban housing crops up in the darnedest places, like at the end of a general aviation airport. Then the residents complain bitterly about the noise and the airplanes flying over their houses. I had a friend in San Francisco, however, whose house was way up the hill from the main airport, yet every seven minutes, a jet would ascend from the runway and fly just a hundred or so feet above the houses on that hill, right over her house. You could count the rivets on the underside of the plane. Same thing in Truckee, CA and Minden, NV. The airports have been there since WWII, but those pretty little houses are so attractive to the SoCal immigrants. Just like back in Chino Hills. What's more, Starbucks decided to build their huge coffee roasting plant and transit factory nearby. Every afternoon, they vent the fumes from the coffee roasting. Which is worse: cow manure or coffee?

I collect lucky spikes too. The old Catskill Mt Railroad was able to derail itself without my help.
